Welcome to

The Panhandle Primate

I'm Dexter — 38, husband, father of two, and a firefighter/paramedic of 18 years working out of Erath County, Texas.

I've spent nearly two decades helping people during the worst moments of their lives, which has a way of stripping the illusions off modern life pretty fast. Somewhere along the way I started asking the hard questions — about the systems we're told to trust, the history we're told to accept, the future we're told is inevitable. Call it conspiracy theory if you want.

I call it paying attention.

I'm politically libertarian, idealistically anarchist, and I approach everything with an open mind and a stubborn curiosity. I think we're on a sinking ship — and I'm still optimistic, because I believe people who see it clearly can build something better before it goes under.

This site is where I write, podcast, and think out loud. It's part, part campfire, part open questioning of everything we've been handed. My goal isn't just an audience — it's a community. People who want context instead of noise, and who are ready to help build a world worth living in when this one finishes falling apart.

If that sounds like you, pull up a seat.
