About
From the start
I have always been inspired by the versatility that the internet offers but was never quite sure how to engage with the potential. In 2015 I started the Panhandle Primate Podcast and a corresponding blog. The podcast was interview style based around the concept that I would interview people who should have their own show. The aim was to exhibit the ease of starting a show to inspire others to start shows. Needless to say podcasting has caught on and I learned through the process. In 2019 we had our second child and I started paramedic school, podcasting took a back seat through 2020 until I finished the certification process in 2021.
I felt disconnected from my old show and was uninspired by its original concept. My wife, Shannon, and I started to play around with ideas on how to reformat quickly realizing we weren’t reformatting… we were starting a new show.
intro to The D_program
We sought a format that highlighted the things we didn’t hear talked about on a wide stage. Shannon is a mother of two, grad-student working on her masters in Linguistics. I have been a firefighter for 11 years and have always taken a contrarian approach to the world. From our vantage point we hope to engage our current culture through conversations. We are going to keep the format loose, some episodes will just be Shannon and myself, some will feature guest who we interview, and the occasional buddy will sit in for the standard show to offer a third perspective.

We are hoping to engage with our listeners through our our subreddit r/TheD_Program. Each episode will have a corresponding post. We will also host a book club through the same sub. If you aren’t a Redditor please contact us through social media or E-mail. Enjoy!
